Where has the time gone??? How is summer coming to an end. It seems like we just got here! When we opted for a seasonal site this year, we weren’t sure how we were going to feel about being in one spot for the entire summer. Would we be ready to go somewhere else after a few weeks, a month, 3 months? The reason we chose this particular area in Eastern Iowa is because it makes a great base camp. We spent some time here last summer when I, Candy, broke my foot. There were many places I wanted to visit last summer that my circumstances prohibited. There are so many places to visit for day trips, and it’s absolutely BEAUTIFUL!
As I looked back on my prayer journal this morning, I found an entry from July 12, 2019 asking God for guidance and provision as I began to plan our trip back home for the holidays this year. I asked Him to be in all the details, help me plan well, get the timing right, and to provide the financial means we would need for the journey. I also asked him to help me to not be anxious about those plans. He answered most of that prayer on August 5 when we received the appointment letter for Paul’s American citizenship interview, which is scheduled for September 4 in Texas. Mind you, that wasn’t exactly the TIMING answer I was looking for, but it is definitely an answer to everything I asked Him! LOL! So, our trip back to Texas has been expedited this year. He provided the answer to the timing and the financial means. It will be a lot cheaper going straight back rather than taking the “scenic route” I was looking at. We are trusting God’s very definite timing through our circumstances, and trying to soak up every last thing about this beautiful place before we head back.
Where You go, I’ll go.
Chris Tomlin – “I Will Follow” lyrics
Where You stay, I’ll stay.
When You move, I’ll move.
I will follow You.
It’s been a while since I’ve shared travel pictures from places we’ve been and what we’ve been up to in a blog, so here goes! Let’s time travel back to June…hope you enjoy pictures! 🙂
June Fun
We love to go for drives around here. So much to see!
In June, we went strawberry picking at Annie’s Acres, caught lightning bugs, hit the Dubuque farmers’ market every weekend, enjoyed the summer reading programs at the Bellevue Public Library, and tried to stay cool while the heat index climbed. 🙂 There were several days that it was actually hotter here in Iowa than it was at home in Texas! The difference? It cooled down here, and it’s still HOT in Texas. LOL!

We are going to miss our new friends and community here, but we are also excited to see the family in Texas. We have a ton of fun planned for the fall, so be sure to follow us on Facebook or Instagram to see what we’re up to!
Iowa looks gorgeous! Are the people there as friendly as in Texas?
