Spring Has Sprung

Hello, friends.  It’s been a minute since I’ve given an update on our adventures.  Our winter was BUSY, BUSY, BUSY as we spent time with family back in Texas.  Spring temperatures have brought out a swarm of “travel bugs” all around us, and they are eating us up!  LOL!

We have exciting plans for the summer, but first, a quick update on what we’ve been up to the past couple of months…

We celebrated our 17th wedding anniversary!  We had dinner at one of our hometown favorites, Cork & Pig Tavern, then ended the evening downtown San Angelo, TX at The House of Fifi Dubois for some live music by Josh Grider.  Love his latest music!

17 years of adventures with my favorite person!

Emily turned 15, started driver’s education, and now has her learner’s permit.  How is that possible??  And…she got new glasses.  Isn’t she cute?  🙂

Tyler has really enjoyed receiving his monthly Tinker Crate while we have been home. We highly recommend these.  He has learned so much and gets so excited to build each project.

I helped my sister get the twin’s nursery ready while the boys played.  Tyler loves his little cousin, Lucas.  I think the feeling is mutual.  They are so sweet!

We took a few final pregnancy pictures.  This pregnancy completes an entire generation of our family.  For years, we have taken “sister preggo pics”.  This time, we included our little brother, too!  This went silly very quickly!  Hilarious!  I love these people!  LOL!

Both of our kids have turned into excellent little cooks.  They both enjoy being in the kitchen, which is no surprise since Paul and I both enjoy cooking too.

Tyler made this beautiful dessert one evening to share with Grandma and PawPaw.  It was just as yummy as it was pretty!

We welcomed the sweetest baby girls to our family!  My sister did AWESOME carrying them just shy of 39 weeks, and they are perfect!

I absolutely love being an Aunt.  I love the special relationship I have with each of my nieces and nephews.  They are gifts from God, and I treasure each one of them.  I got to hang with my little nephew, Lucas, while his Mommy and Daddy were at the hospital with the twins.  We had so much fun together!

Sweet baby loves! My heart is full!

We like to sneak a date in when we can….love Twisted Root!  Was a beautiful day to sit outside!  Also, it was St. Paddy’s day….Paul had his green hidden….LOL!

I might have a serious problem.  I love flowers!  I refuse to give up my gardens just because we don’t live in one place!  LOL!  I replanted some annuals around what we call “Grandmother’s Tree”.  This year, I added the dump truck as a planter because Tyler doesn’t play with it anymore.  Ha!  I love lilies, so we are enjoying them in full bloom now.  I’ll probably plant them at “The Place” (our family land) before we head out.  Hopefully, they’ll bloom again next spring.  I have some sunflowers started, too.  Some are in the ground, and some are in pots. I’m going to leave one with each of my siblings’ families when we leave, and I’ll take a couple with us.  They are supposed to grow up to 14 feet tall, so we’ll see how it goes.  I’ve also got some Texas wildflower sprouts.  I’m hoping they are in full bloom by the time we head out.  Thought that would be fun to take with us.  I’ve also got herbs started.  I told you I have a problem.  LOL!

For Emily’s birthday, we got tickets to go see STOMP!  It was so much fun!  Paul and I got to see it in New York years ago, but this was just as good!  The kids loved it!

My cousin’s little girl, Hannah, came out for her annual weekend camping trip with us. She and Tyler played and played and played!  LOL!  They are fort building, hole digging, sign making, spider hunting, hammock swinging, mud fight having, best of friends. ♥️  I love the creativity that happens when these two get together!

More baby cuddles….can’t get enough….

Bluebonnets are in bloom!  We had to stop and get a picture.  This isn’t far from The Place.  Everyday, there are more flowers!  Side note:  this is my favorite t-shirt Tyler owns.  🙂

Back to my flower obsession….found some irises to plant at my parents’ house.  When they bought this house 37 years ago, the front flowerbeds were full of irises.  I can remember taking cut irises to my teachers at school in the spring.  I spent some time a couple of weeks ago cleaning up their front yard and beds and felt like it was time to bring the irises back for an early Birthday/Mother’s Day for my Mama!  I mentioned it to her, and she told me the irises in the flowerbeds were one of the main selling points of this house for her 37 years ago.  As it happened, a local man posted on Facebook that he was moving and clearing out thousands of irises from his beds!  Winner winner!  We went and got some, and Tyler and I got them planted for her!  Can’t wait to see them in bloom!

We have an EXTREMELY busy month or so ahead of us trying to wrap things up in Texas: doctor visits, some maintenance on the truck and RV, a couple of business trips, vehicle inspections, etc.  My calendar is honestly a little daunting, but the tentative plan is to head back to the Midwest mid-May. We are doing it a little different this year.  We have booked a seasonal site that will serve as our “base camp”.  We can take trips from there, but we’ll have a base to land when we just need to put our heads down and work. It is a beautiful area!  We look forward to exploring new places and revisiting others in the area! (We will not be sharing the exact place because there are crazy people in this world and we like to try to avoid them.  LOL!)  Temperatures will be heating up here in Texas, and things will be thawing out in the Midwest.  Hoping to time it just right! More adventures around the corner!

I absolutely love how our RVing adventures have evolved over the past almost 4 years!  I cherish all of the family time over the winter months and treasure our travel adventures the other half of the year.  I couldn’t ask for more.  We are truly blessed!
